T-storm: The Aftermath

Our neighborhood was directly hit by severe thunderstorm last Saturday night. It was the scariest moment in my life as the house was shaken and the lights went off. I immediately took Feyruz who was asleep at that time to the basement, just in case if anything happened. After a while, water came into our basement, I guess from the cracks around the wall. Amin frantically moved most of our stuff around to avoid any damages. Then a lot more water came thru a small window in our basement near the washer & dryer. Fortunately we had a drainage in the basement, so the water that got in, drained thru that.

The thunderstorm lasted for an hour. Afterward, we looked out and saw a bunch of pebble size hail, debris & leaves around the house. It was so crazy! We heard the neighbors outside, and we saw the nearby tree felt off on their car. Alhamdulillah, we were lucky that there was no tree near our house.

The next morning, this was what we saw...

Amin sprayed water around the house and my Subie to clean up.

My Subie got damaged pretty bad from the hail. Really bad actually, looked like the car got a lot of pimples :S

The next day, Amin sent my car to the workshop. The worker estimated $3k+ for the repair, but we would only need to pay $725, and the rest would be taken care by the insurance.

As of right now, my Subie is still in the workshop. Probably will get it back on Monday. Can't wait to see my car again ..
