Big Fat Loser
Yupp that's me. I kind of expect it coming just because of the situation of the company. But I didn't think it'll happen this soon. I'm frustrated and hopeless. Is it too late to become a dentist? Enuff said.

Snowing in Spring!
Other than me, only gem knows how it feels bila asyik snow je.... both of us will be like '''euuurgghh...yikesss.... snow lagi ke?''' The thing is, at this moment... Gem is in Malaysia enjoying the summer year long weather, sun bathing and golek2 at the beach and I'm in Kansas mcm ni
Sungguh unfair! Well hopefully it's not too hot in Malaysia. I'd rather be cold than hot.
It was 67F outside yesterday and I was wearing one layer of baju only and today viola...the snow is here. I couldn't belive my eyes this morning.

Irfan hits his milestone again
OooOoo baby ku Irfan hehe. He just turned 18 months! Quite an accomplishment I would say. Penat woo nak membesarkan anak.
Irfan has been such a darling after he got the ear tubes. Alhamdulillah everything went well. Gem took care of him for two weeks and that really put him back to his best health. He's back to the daycare now but I'm sure Irfan misses her Auntie Cah very much.
We visited Auntie Cah & Uncle Amin last week before they headed back to Malaysia. We had dinner together at Bombay Restaurant. Food was superb. I love the Butter Chicken yummeh. I had Lamb Biryani, wasn't as good la. Despite the good food, Irfan wasn't at his best mood. Ini budak manyak susah loh. He was so sleepy and cranky, * tak nak makan nangis2 merengek2* so Zuhri and I had to take turn entertaining him
As far as his development, Irfan is right on track... I was comparing his skills to the one at the Babycenter, and he's doing a lil bit of everything.
- He reads his book on his own -flipping pages, mumbling some words pretending like he's reading the book, pointing to pictures
- He scribbles
- String two words together in phrases - not so much la. I think he said 'And dig' few times but he got it from watching Yo Gabba Gabba.
- Brushes teeth with help - not at all. Kena paksa je ni.
- Stacks four blocks- I've seen Irfan stacking 3 blocks. Four yet to come.
- Take toys apart and put them back together- Absolutely! Irfan has this engineer instinct la la I think. He loves to observe movement, how the mechanics work etc. For example dia dah pandai turn on DVD player himslef when he wants to watch cartoon.
Irfan dah pandai pretend play as well. He talks on the cell phone, looking at my laptop screen as if he's reading blogs. Pandai main peekaboo (sorok-sorok). He loves the kuda ride that auntie cah gave months ago. He likes to sing ABC...(you can hear the rythm only like he's singing ABC and pointing to the letters). Dia dah pandai follow simple instructions i.e 'please get mama the ball', 'Irfan, book please'... His favorite book is 'Cuddle with little duck'. Sometimes if I want him to get that particular book for me, I'd say the first few lines of the book and Irfan'd know exactly what to get. I wanted tp test his memory and it seems to work. He remember the stuff that he read. Amazing! Irfan showed his tantrums first in public at Owasso TJ Maxx 3-13-10. Zuhri was not there, he was trying to sell our car, 04 Mitsu Lancer. TJ Maxx is like a store where you can buy a lot of branded stuff at a good deal and there are lots of baby/ toddler items too. On that day, I wanted to try on some shoes but Irfan prefers to play with the toys at the toys area. But I dragged him to the shoes section and he started to beratkan badan, guling2 atas lantai like nobody's business. He won't let me pick him up at all. Argghhhh.. sabo jela kan biar je dia golek2 for 5 mins. Some said to him 'Are you giving mommy a hard time?' Last2 tarik je la mamat kecik sorang ni. And at the store too, this one time we were looking at the books section. After a while Irfan got bored and moved on to the toy area next to the books section. I wasn't paying much attention to him since I knew he's just few steps away from me. After few minutes I turned around to look for him and there he was.... sweeping the floor with a pink penyapu toy! And he's very good at it! Memang tangan pegang penyapu sapu sampah and bersih lantai. Adoi very sweet, nothing is sexier than a man doing house chores! But makes me wonder tau, mana la si kecik ni belajar menyapu...kat daycare ke? Anak aku jadi Cinderella ke kat daycare? adooiiiii.... ntah la abaikan huhu.
For his 18-months bday I bought him his first Thomas.
It looks exactly like this and it can say few things like 'I'm thomas the train' etc. Mahal nak mati la mende ni, kecik je tau like 4" long. It can fits in Irfan's hand nicely, imagine how kecik it is and the price is $17!!!! That's about RM 70 kot agak2. But it's a good toy jugak la for travel. Bought him woody from toy story too and he likes it so much! Saje je kan at this age the kids will get attach to plush toys.
I actually would really like to get him this..
A tricycle and you can push it around too if the kid is still small. Can be used up to 4-5 years. Tapi the car auntie cah dah hadiahkan it's just that the car is at her place and it doesn't have the board for his foot so Irfan having a hard time to push it around. Makes me feel like I should get the tricycle instead sbb kereta tu dah ade. Sape2 yg dah ade experience dgn toys ni please give me your opinion. Ok la I think I have bebel so much and it's time to stop.

The Discovery of My Pregnancy
So here's the story...
Last Friday I went to Target and bought some clothes that were on clearance rack. Got home around 4.30pm and was so excited to try the clothes on. It has a pretty lining on the waist to show the body shape. To my surprise, my tummy looked very bulky and round. I was quite frustrated because first of all, I didn't look great in it, and I didn't understand why I look so round. I've been quite active for the past weeks, working out at gym, and put on diet (small portion of meal, eat yogurt & almonds to help getting flat tummy). Then on the second thought, I sensed that my body has changed! Maybe... am I pregnant?
At 4.50pm, I called Amin and asked him to get a pregnancy test quickly since the pharmacy at his office would close soon. Amin's reaction? He was laughing at me and I could tell that he was excited to get home. I told him, this was not funny at all.. and I was quite scared :S
Then, Amin got home and passed me the pregnancy test. I read the booklet for instruction, then ready to pee on the stick. It turned positive immediately OMG! I showed it to Amin and both of us were so surprised.

For someone like me -who has been diagnosed with having ovarian cyst last year that may cause infertility, who once used birth control pills for quite some times to regulate menstrual cycle, then to find out about the pregnancy- was a total miracle!
But I told Amin that I wasn't 100% confident, not until I have a checkup at the hospital. So we decided not to be excited, and not to tell anybody yet.
Then Janet & Zuhri came for the weekend to say goodbye to us since we are going back to Malaysia next week. I couldn't hide this news especially to Janet, just because I needed to talk to someone who has the experience.
On Monday, I called the OBGYN office at the hospital, and the nurse asked me to come to the office for another pregnancy test before they scheduled for doctor's visit. So, I decided to go there myself. After the test, I waited in one of the rooms. When the nurse came by, she said "Yup.. definitely!". Then she started showing me timetable to determine how long is my pregnancy, and then she talked and talked about being pregnant.. I was still blurred and tried to understand what was going on and what did this meant...
I told the nurse that I'm going to be out of country this weekend and I hoped to see the doctor soon before I leave the country. She tried to put me for this week's appointment, but there was no available slot to see my doctor. And I just couldn't see any other doctors because of the hospital policy.
I looked quite worried since I didn't know what's the baby's condition. Then the nurse brought me back to the examination room. She said that she could check the baby's heart rate pretty quickly so that I would have a peace of mind. She put some jelly under my tummy and then she put a small receiver on top of it while holding a monitor. I heard a very rapid heart beat rythm 'dup dap dup dap'. The nurse said this is the baby's heart rate at 163 beats per minute- " this is a very healthy baby". And then she move the receiver a little bit to the side, and I heard a slower heart beat. The nurse told me that this is my heart beat which is around 90 beats per minute. I felt soo overwhelmed at that time, and I wish Amin was there to hear what I just heard.
That afternoon.. I started calling my family, and Amin started calling his to tell the good news. We felt blessed and happy, and I hope that I will have a very healthy pregnancy :)

Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies (As Enul's Requested)

This recipe is taken from the Quaker Oats' lid, but I changed the measurement a bit because we like the cookies to taste less sweet. To compensate that, I added more raisins/ dry cranberries to the ingredients. Here's my measurement:
1/2 lbs salted margarine/butter, softened (I prefer to use butter since margarine contains hydrogenated oil which can increase LDL/'bad' cholestrol)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup all-purpose flour (add some more up to 1 1/2 cup if the mixture is too mushy)
1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cinnamon powder 3 cups uncooked Quaker Oats (I used quick, but old fashioned works too)
1 1/2 cup raisins
Methods:
1. Beat together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until creamy
2. Add eggs and vanilla extract; beat well
3. Add combined flour, baking soda and cinnamon powder; mix well
4. Stir in oats and raisins; mix well
5. Heat oven to 350 degree F (about 180 degree C)
6. Put a layer of parchment paper/wax paper/cookie sheet on the cookie tray
7. You can use a tablespoon, or an ice cream scoop to scoop the mixture and drop it onto ungreased parchment paper
8. Make sure the distance between each scoop is approximately 1 1/2 inches
9. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown
10. Let it cool for a minute, then remove to wire rack/cooling rack

The truth is...
I was reading my friends' blog. Most of them talk about their little ones. Some talk about their relationship, the intimacy, the never ending love towards their soulmate. Sadly, in my journal, I'm missing the latter part.
Zuhri said to me once.. ' I've never read anything about me in your blog...' and I was like ' Mmmm..' trying to look back and remember.
The truth is I have nothing to say. At least nothing that would make me happy. It is sad...I know.
