Day After Chrismas: Trip to Pittsburgh

We were waiting for the snow to get here in Indiana, but no snow at all till today! In fact it is sunny & the remaining snow from last week is melting. Aiyooooo..... (sabar aje la)

Anyway, we went to Pittsburgh yesterday. The main plan was to visit the Carnegie Science Center, then later that night we were going to have dinner at a Taj Mahal Restaurant.

We stopped at Pittsburgh Islamic Center for solat.

One of the many bridges in Pittsburgh.

Things to do at the Science Center:
1. Get to tour on a real USS submarine 'The Requim' (pronounced as Ray-quim) used in 1940s-1960s I think.

2. Science area where they show & explain how things happen in our lives (from micro-organisms, echoes, volcano eruptions, hurricane, tornado, color spectrum, etc)

3. This is our favorite area- The Roboworld. It shows why we are so dependent to robots to do factory jobs (that would be very hard task for human). The best part is that we could compete with the robot in games, like shooting basketball, playing carom billiards, and soccer table. I think we spent almost 2 hours here, since the robot always beat us, and we couldn't stop from playing again.

This robot sense the heat in our body.

Amin while playing the carom. Can't beat the robot huh?

4. Seaworld - boooring.. I think it was kinda a half-hearted exhibit. The aquariums were small, and the fish were small too. I wish they got shark/dolphin in there.. or at least a big turtle.

5. Interactive area - this area is for kiddy/school students. Nothing interest me that much, but Muhsin love this place.

6. The New Sports Center where they have wall climbing, Yo-yo (you have to push down the cable really hard to the ground, and the cable push you back up in the air), roller coaster simulation, riding a bike on a steel on high altitude, etc. Again, mostly were for kiddy/ school students.
Me and Amin tried the roller coaster simulation since it was the only teens/adults thing. We were waiting in line for 1 1/2 hours, and guess what? The simulation wasn't that real.. and they used computers for the graphic simulation from 1999 technology! That was like.. PS2 technology duhh...

So, for the price of $14 for adult, $10 for kid, I think the exhibits were not that great. It totally WOW the kids (like Muhsin & Hana), but I was not that impressed.

When the Science Center closed at 7pm, we headed to Taj Mahal Restaurant. I called earlier and tried to book the seats, but they said the place was full & we had to wait. Since we were on our way already, we just went there to see the place. And yupp, when we got there, it was full & there were like 3 groups waiting to be seated. Aiyo... we canceled to eat there, and just ordered pizzas at Pizza Hut.

We got home around 11.30pm, and I went straight to the bed to sleep. What a trip!

Rasa boring sket sbb tempat tu lebey kpd eduational purpose, sesuai utk budak sekolah, buat school trip ke. Tak leh ar nak compare dgn Universal Studio sbb that place is totally for fun.
Aku dah abis tgk Nur kasih, tgh tgk Cinta Balqis pulak. Tp cite tu sloww sket.
Tu la kalau baca review pasal Taj Mahal, diaorg ckp sedap mknan Taj Mahal ni, lgpun dia ade franchise kat NY & Canada sume. Tu ktorg beria2 nak try, tp takde rezeki nampaknye..
