Watching Soccer Game in 3D

We went to Best Buy yesterday for a while. Didn't really know what to get, just browsing around the store. At the TV section, Amin asked the worker there if they have 3D demo for soccer games. Yup they do..

I didn't like the glasses at all. We looked funny and silly wearing these.. and I couldn't imagine wearing it all the time while watching TV. And it is very expensive, ($150 each) plus you need to buy the batteries for the glasses too.

But the 3D looked really good and different. I would say that the soccer game looked more realistic and you could feel that the players were in front of you while they were running or kicking or screaming. But after like 15 mins, I felt dizzy already huhuhu... maybe need some times to get used to it.

The cost: TV price is around $2k + 2 free 3D glasses + Directv satellite plan is $84 per month.
Very expensive and not so worth it.

Please make doa for our safety

I just have too many things going on at once that I shouldn't spend this precious time writing this. But I just have too. I'm scared and I have no idea who to turn to..
and before this miserable life threatening piece of s*!t gets into me even deeper.. I really need to put this in writing..

We have BR spider problem and I think the house is infested. I googled about this particular spider months ago but never really got the guts to read about them again until today. The articles and facts about it are just too spooky for me. I thought it's better off not knowing. And today, after seeing tons of the spider in the past weeks, I did my research again... and here's what I've found:

How would I know that I have a brown recluse spider infestation?

This seems like an silly question, but it truly is not. It is possible to have a brown recluse infestation and not realize it. That is, you do not realize it until it is to late and you get bitten by this dangerous spider.

To be infested, you need only have enough brown recluse spiders that they are breeding. Just a few spiders can reproduce enough to give you a problem. If you are seeing brown recluse spiders once a week or so, it is better to be on the safe side and take some precautions.

First, you want to identify how bad the infestation is. If you are seeing brown recluse spiders every day, then stop reading and call the exterminators. You are infested big time. I once saw a house that literally had brown recluse spiders in almost every corner. Not a place that you want to be.

We literally have seen more than one recluse every week!
We've found one in our own BED and Irfan and I were sitting next to it!
Zuhri found two in the bedroom last night!
I found one crawling in the living room and killed it violently!
We found one trapped in the closet at our living room!
One was found in the kitchen, trapped on a glue board!
And some other spiders as well!

I don't feel safe living in this hell place.
I have a son sleeping on his bed and I'm constantly worried if he's safe there..
And when he's up and playing... I'm constantly worried if there's any spider underneath the toys (well, I don't check on the toys before letting him play with them)

Ya Allah please give me strength to go through this... please give us guidance and please protect our family. I don't really know what else that I can do other than cry doa and praying really hard. I really want to move out of this junk but I guess that's not an option for now... maybe not until somebody gets hurt.. nauzubillah

Honestly, I'm scared to death!

Hail Purdue!

My long overdue entry...
I better make it short and sweet ... chewah
Went back to Purdue University for Midwest Game 2010. Zuhri and I left Purdue in 2005 upon graduation and straight to Oregon for work.
This time around, after 5 years, we drove 11 hrs back to Purdue... and we had our little one tagging along.

Our first stop was Owen Hall for registration. Saw abundance of Malaysians there. Zuhri used to work at this residence hall so he was very pleased to see the place is still up and running huhu...

Then we drove around Chauncey Hill, our old apartments, places that we went to eat throughout college and not to forget pusara kuci, but we didn't make a stop just passed by je (if you still remember Kuci was my late hamster that died in Spring 2003 if I'm not mistaken)

Second day was the midwest opening ceremony. Joined A and Z family with their adorable girl Amylda. Irfan and I missed dada's oh-so-glory game that day (that's how dada described it huhu perasankan). Both of us spent the day at home.. ade ke patut sebab ingat Irfan nak tido but he was so hyper all day kat rumah.

Third day, mengangkut la si kecik Irfan ke padang. It was terribly HOT. We were lucky that we brought BOB stroller and a small stroller fan with us. Irfan slept soundly with his suglasses on, in the middle of the soccer field at 100+F temperature. A LOT of people tegur pasal stroller and the fan, even the referree! After the game, pegi la the so-called midwest dinner. Then the performance. When we were walking through Stewart Center to get to the performace hall, rasa mcm dejavu and very nostalgic. Rasa mcm studnet 5 yrs ago.. sigh.

We stayed at a friend's place who's doing grad school. Met some other friends that did undergrad sekali. During the stay, Irfan suddenly had this unbearble shyness and anxiety towards stranger. Adoi pening nak jaga. Our friend ni ade a girl umur lebih kurang Irfan and Irfan absolutely couldn't stand her. Nangis je tak nak share toy and he was just so clingy.
Dada said "Baru nak show off Irfan to our friends sekali dia buat perangai"

Ade ke patut one time kat padang our friend datang nak tengok Irfan and he pretended like he was sleeping (wearing his sunglasses, buat gaya lentok tido and mata was half open). But I knew he wasn't! Tak comel sungguh time kat Purdue.

On our drive back to Kansas,
Dada said "Betul la like you said, 5 years rasa macam kejap sangat. Datang Purdue balik rasa mcm sama je.."
Me "Told you... kalau after 10- 20 years datang balik baru la rasa the WOW effect. Masa tu Purdue mesti dah lain.."

Huhuhu kan dah cakap. But I'm so glad that we went back afterall. It was good to see and catch up with some old friends.. and I did feel the WOW effect after walking through Stewart Center and looking at some Computer Labs that I used to work at.

At Neil Armstrong building. Neil Armstrong graduated from Purdue.. woohoo

Zuhri said muka Irfan time ni bangga kena kiss. I'm the first girl that kiss him =)

This is the real Irfan all week long. Heeeeekk...heeeekkkkk tu jela dia merengek

Babymoon in St louis, MO

This was our second time around ronggeng2 in St Louis (but first time with the baby). We had in mind a few places to visit: St Louis Zoo, Missouri Botanical Garden and Gateway Arch (at night). But it was so hot during the day and humid too. I could only walk for 3 straight hours and then need to get some food, and go back to the hotel for a rest/nap.

Saturday:

We left quite late around 10am. We thought that since the zoo is only 15 mins away from the hotel, it won't take us that long to get there (even with the traffic). I was so pumped up to see the animals. Heard from the Msians in KC that the zoo is awesome.
Well.. we actually got stucked in the traffic (bumper to bumper) after exited the highway because there were so many people headed to the zoo. And also the fact that it was Memorial weekends and the admission to the zoo is free. Took us 2 looonggg hours to find a parking spot, and by the time we entered the zoo, it was scorching hot!
Fortunately there were so many trees and shades around the zoo. And we brought energy drinks and snacks, so it wasn't that bad.

The first animal we saw was this large Macau. I remembered this bird from Irfan's book :)

Some of the animals were sleeping/resting around this hour. Not much action to see. But I was amazed to see some of the animals that I had never seen before, like how huge the hippopotumus is, jaguar vs. cheetah (I still couldn't tell the different), hyena (which I remembered from the Lion King) and how playful the grizzly bear is.

Amin loved to watch the elephants. He was amazed on how they used their trunks to smell, grab some grass and get the water to shower his body.

Sleepy grizzly bear.

Me at a fake cave.

We left the zoo around 3.30pm. We managed to cover half of the zoo only. Headed to Cafe Lazeez for lunch.
I ordered some fried chicken while Amin got a beef burger.

Sunday:
We planned to leave early this time. I still wanted to go back to the zoo and finished up the tour before going to the Botanical Garden. We saw giraffe, camels , snakes, birds, kangaroos, orang utan and many more. We also went to the souvenir store before we left.

Me trying these silly animal hats.

I was tired already by the time we left the zoo. I didn't feel like going to the Botanical Garden anymore since it is another large place with a lot of ground to cover. I didn't think I could make it 1/2 way huhu..

So we went to Hot n Sour for lunch and afterward we walked around at the nearby mall.

I got a fried rice while Amin ordered a kebab pita sandwich.

That night, we went to St Louis downtown to see the Gateway Arch at night. But they closed the sidewalk parking space, and the only way to park the car was at the parking garage. We didn't want to pay for the parking since we were just going to be there for a while and the place was quite dark. So Amin just drove around there, and then he drove around the city.

We stopped at the City Garden Park, which is a small art park in the middle of St Louis downtown area. It was so beautiful at night with all the lights and fountains. But by the time we got there around 10.15pm, the park was already closed.

Monday:
We left the hotel around 11am, heading back to KC. It was overall a very relaxing trip. Not sure when we would be able to go on another trip somewhere, but if this is the last one for this year, then I am perfectly content ;)

Irfan counting!

We started to teach Irfan to count on our trip to Purdue. In a few days, he can count 1 to 10 like a pro! wahauhehue... and now he likes to count every time he gets a chance.

Petang tadi took Irfan to the park while dada playing soccer at a trackfield. At first he was riding the trike, then lari2. Then he saw something on the trackfield and started to count!

Irfan: Three... Four
Me: Eh ape yang Irfan count ni (trying to look around)

Then I saw the numbers on the trackfield... alaa...the numbers that show the position of the runners at the beginning of the game or maybe lane numbers huhu.. I have no freaking idea about sports. MasyaAllah pandai nye Irfan... and very observant too.

Then we were about to go home. And there was a couple with a little dog jogged behind us. Irfan was looking at the dog with interest and started to say DOG! and he kept saying dog over and over again...

MasyaAllah... pandai nye.

BBQ with gem & amin

My posting is always lagging by weeks or months. I don't know why I'm always occupied. Ni dah tak keje pun macam tu la jugak. Busy handling Irfan day and night... Oh and the dada too..

So, went to Gem's place about 3 weeks ago to get Irfan's toys.. and also melawat gem yg dah makin sarat nak meletoppp! hueueh gem nampak macam tak larat, mengah sana sini. She couldn't even sit still asyik pusing kiri and kanan. Gem just got new sofas and some furnitures and WOW rumah dia memang nampak lain betul. Lawa sgt the deco and I just love it. I wish I can deco my house.. but I'm just too lazy and nak beli2 barang ni kan mahal.

Gem and Amin made some sizzling sate and ayam. We brought steak. Yummeh dishes!! And of course Irfan didn't like any of the food at all. Tension makcik! Satu ape pun tak nak makan. He preferred to be in the yard playing with toys especially the cozy coupe car. Aku la yg penat tolak si kecik tu sana sini isk isk. But it was so fulfilling to see him having so much fun!

When we got home, Irfan had high temp (I dont know what exactly triggered the fever, maybe from playing at the kids area at the shopping center) so again I missed two days of work. Aish...

Irfan in his special Beamer hehe. He loves it so much makes me think I should get him one of this.

Me pointing at Gem's growing perut. Look at the sizzling sate. No dada in the pic..mmm

Why do I look a lil older than usual?

The host

Irfan buat muka comel on auntie Cah's new couch.

This picture was supposed to show Irfan touching auntie cah's perut but Gem's hand was covering Irfan's hand pulak.

Next time kitaorg datang masak sedap2 lagi ye. Hehehe memang kena masak sedap pun time pregnant sebab dah beranak nanti jgn harap la berbulan2 makan tak best.

Credit to Abang for taking all the pictures.
