Spring Cleaning Weekend

We did some cleaning at our house last weekend. Amin vacuumed the living room & cleaned up here and there. We are planning to move our stuff (my desk, Amin's desk & maybe the TV) downstairs at the garage soon before it's getting too hot. We are thinking on lowering the A/C bill, so we'll see if worth it. (Sounds live a caveman when I think about living in the garage ahahaha)

Also, Amin cleaned the stove & kitchen floor to get rid of the oil scum. He used this spray product called 'Easy Off' Oven Cleaner. The spray is so strong that you don't have to scrub the surface. Just wipe it with a cloth, piece of cake.

Spotless stove. Perfect.

Well, this was when things went wrong. Amin also used the spray on the filter above the stove. Guess what happened...

The paint came off!! Oppss... Well I guess the materials to make the filter is not the same as the stove. Fortunately we rented this house, so I don't care much. Maybe we'll paint it back some other time ;)

Conclusion: One problem solved, another problem comes up hahaha

Another thing we did, we changed the air filter for both Ford Focus & Subaru. My car smelled quite bad since winter. It smelled like damp clothes that you don't dry it up properly. Well, I thought maybe because the car is always in the garage, so maybe it got the smell from the cooking etc. Then I tried a few things: parked my car outside, turned on the A/C often. Still, it didn't work. Amin said, maybe the air filter is not working anymore..

Amin took out the filter from my car. Very dusty & moldy. This was what I've been breathing in :S

So Amin did some research about changing air filter. We found out that it is recommended to change the car's air filter every 6 months / 1 year. This service is not included in regular maintenance schedule. So if you just go to a dealer and ask them to change it for you, they will charge you a lot, maybe around $100+! What most people do (and what we did): just go to Walmart and buy an air filter for house (allergen free, only cost you $25), cut it out (we got 6 pieces) & install it in the car. And I have 5 more, for another 5 years! :D

My New Project: Acar Buah

I've been thinking about making my own version of acar buah since E told me that auntie makes her own now. I'm not sure at first, because here we can't find much jeruk/dried fruits. So I just bought anything available that I could think of, and last night was my first attempt. The result...


Tadaaa.. taste just like Anyah's version. Thanks to Auntie for the recipe (Actually, I did add up some more ingredients to enhance the flavor :D )

last saturday ktorng wut dinner house warming utk 3 rumah..my house is at ground floor..then my fren's house at 3rd n 4th floor..so ktorng combine jer..most of our batch came that night n dierong sume puji mknan ktorng bwat sedap sgt2..hihih actually our class representatve yg dok kt 4th floor 2 yg tau masak..our main dishes..nasi putih..vegetables seasons..gobi manchurian..ayam chilli n ayam goreng..2 sume ktorng cathering jer..n deserts- we hve puding roti,caramel puding, agar2 bandung, kek batik, n mesh potato..sumer orng puji sedappp =) then buah2 like tembikai N betik...huhuh mnknan yg byk tggal main dishes 2 jer..n yg deserts 2 mmg laku!!!our house is the biggest n at ground floor lg...so mmg best!!!hurmm tp sewa lg mahal laa compare ngn yg len..anyway kalo dok kt hostel lg laa mahal.

sorry da lame x coment n tulis blog...after vacation trus strt class..actually i hv few intrstng things 2 share bout the tour india...mayB later..heheh it's along..long story..hurmm btw jz want let u guyz know tht ive move outside frm hostel n now rent a new house whch is nearer to claass..there r 3 bedrooms n the house is quite big..got washing machine =) and also kitchen..so usually we cook our own..da jarang mkn luar skg..=)..tomorrow is our house warming day..so tonight we try n prepare some deserts 4 tomorrow..the main food we jz tk chathrng jee =)..

i learnt to make puding caramel..it's not so difficult actually..then we also make some cake batik..puding roti n agar2 bandung...

Baby Irfan - 6 months old

Irfan turned 6 months last Thursday 03/12/09. He was sick that day, coughing and flu. Kesian tgk dia.. anak2 baby sitter sakit, habis dia pun sakit. I was sick too.. still am. Nasty bug!

Since it was working day, kitaorg tak celebrate. We celebrated his birthday on Sunday instead. Huhu takdela celebrate mende nye, just bought him a lil ice cream muffin (save budget) and a present ngeh ngeh ngeh. Ifan was sooo handsome that day.

At 6 months old:
- Irfan has fully stopped breastfeeding (bf) *sob sob*. Sgt sedey.. I couldnt produce any milk since dia tak nak nurse from breast. I'm sad and relieve at the same time. Mix feeling la bila berhenti nursing ni since I really want to give him the best, and dissapointed that I couldnt produce milk. But at the same time relieve because bf is so so time consuming and mmg kena put A LOT of effort. Kalau rajin and tak keje boleh la. The best part about nursing is it really made me bond with Irfan, the connection is really different since he's close and I felt like I was protecting him. It's a special feeling that only the mom can expeience it.

- Irfan dah pandai reach, grab and mengapai2. Memang tangan dia tak boleh diam, sume mende dia nak pegang. He has started to show the interest in TV REMOTE..huhu mcm baby2 lain gak.

- He has started to eat solid at 5 month+. First solid meal was rice cereal. He loved it. Skg ni if I eat anything dia nak jugak. Sibukla tgn dia menggapai2 nak jugak food/ drink. Sometimes when I'm holding him on one hand, and holding a cup on the other, dia sibuk gak la nak cawan tu nak minum jugak. Cute sgt.

- Irfan pun dah tunjuk sign nak crawl. Dia dah tendang2 kaki hehe.

- He has been saying mmaaamaaaa...buuuuu...abbuuu...baaa... a lot!

- Dia dah kena stranger anxiety ke ape.. kalau being around org yg tak kenal, he refused to be happy. Usually he'll stay quite without any reaction sgt, sometimes he'll cry really hard.

- He knows when his food is ready. He's familiar with his bottle, bila nampak botol susu je terus buat gaya tak sabar nak makan and say 'huhuhu'.. sometimes when I drink water from bottle, dia boleh ingat tu botol dia and terus buat gaya nak minum ahaks. comel.

- Dia makin manja especially dgn daddy and mommy. He loves to stare and daddy and smile at mommy.

- Irfan dah pandai main dgn toy, amazed dgn sume toys yg baru especially jumperoo and exercauser. His fav toy at the moment is his purple gajah bought by gem. And he likes to stare at the musical bear attached to his crib. Bought by Gem too.

Ok la enjoy the pics. Mama doakan anak mama panjang umur, murah rezeki and terang hati. Happy 6 months birthday by.
