Weekdays well spent

Last week on Tuesday Irf4n had another echo, thank god the very last one for this year. We received a very shocking yet pleasant news, Irf4n is all better alhamdulillah His LM coronary artery has came down to 2.5mm within the normal range. It was 4.1mm when he had kawasaki and 3.1mm from his last check up. He is officially off his medication and will be on semi annual check up until teenager. We are blessed. We could have never made it this far without the continuous doa and support from all of you... thank you so much.

On Wednesday-Friday, we went on our final trip ronda2 Oregon before moving to Kansas. Our destination was Oregon Coast since pikir2 kat midwest nanti tak jumpa pantai2 ni. Five hours drive, sampai la ke Oregon Dunes a place like desert. Didn't do much, took some pictures and headed to the hotel. Boleh naik Bungee etc tapi susah la dgn Irf4n.

Second day went to Oregon Safari, boleh pet baby animals. The place is OK.. quite small and ghetto gitu, but we enjoyed every second there. Rasa mcm kat kampung pulak but with all the wild animals running around.

Third day went to the beach for a little bit. Irf4n suka sgt main pasir pantai, suka tendang2. I didn't let him touch the sand pakai tangan, so dia boleh kick2 je pasir. He was sooo eager nak pegang pasir tapi tak boleh bagi la kan nanti dia makan je pasir tu. After a while he learnt that
he can actually move his feet towards his body and touch the sand using his hands!! Syabas anakku!

Ok nak gi kemas2 barang ni. Nak pindah tapi mcm tak buat ape lagi..

PEPTIC ULCER

hey guys...just wana share with u briefly how peptic ulcer occurs..



ur stomach is lined by many types of cells..eg

chief cell-secrete pepsinogen(proenzyme for protein digestion),

parietal cell-secrete hydrocloric acid, intrinsic factor for absorbtion vitB12

G-cell- gastrin(hormone)

D-cell- somatostatin(hormone)



secretions from all these cells are important for digestion system..pepsinogen will become active in the presence of HCl,then will breakdown protein into small peptide..n blaa blaa blaa...hheeheh but how this cell prevent itself from being digested by its own secretion?(autodigestion)

soo actually, there is "mucosal barrier" presence on the surface of mucosal cell..
mucosal barier is formed by 1.mucus 2.bicarbonate ion that is secreted by mucus neck cell...
function of this mucosal barier is to protect cells lining the stomach from being autodigested...

causes of peptic ulcer:
1. Helicobater pylori-bacteria that cause inflamation of lining of stomach that damage protective mucus layer
2.ASPIRIN and NSAIDs- will inhibit production of prostaglandins(hormone)



one of the various functions of prostaglandins is to
1.decrease(inhibit) gastric(HCl) secretion
2. increase stomach mucus secretion


intake of aspirin n NSAIDs as mention,will decrease prostaglandins secretion,
so there will be increase in HCl n decrease stomach mucus secretion...HCl then will act on cells lining the stomach(that are no longer protected)n leads 2 peptic ulcer...


**NSAIDs- nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs
NSAIDs -are widely use to combat pain n treat athritis...

Road Trip?!

We will be moving in a few weeks, decided to drive rather than fly. Oregon (OR) to Kansas (KS) babeh!

The company will pay either

1. Fly+ accommodation and meals(1 day)
   
2. Drive+gas+accommodation and meals (5 nights)

We (Zuhri only, me 50-50) decided to go with #2. It will take us 10 +/- 2 days to get to Kansas, and with Irf4n...it's 100x scary. I know I will have two babies on board, Zuhri will be the other BIG baby. Takutnye..but Zuhri really wants to see the world *kononye la* nak pegi all national park, Hells Canyon, Yellowstone (we've been there once), Grand Teton, Mount Rushmore, and others but man.. it's a bit wacky to do this with a baby. But oh well.. I'm excited+scared.

I guess we just have to Hope for the Best but Expect the Worst. We went back to Malaysia once with Irf4n, it wasn't too bad but of course he was 3 MONTHS OLD, no tantrum or anything yet!!

I'm planning to buy toys for traveling .. pening la nak beli ape since Irf4n prefers remote, cell phone, laptops, keys. I'll get him a portable dvd player too so that he can watch Yo Gabba Gabba and Ni Hao Kailan. I've always thought that Irf4n would like something like Barney the purple dino ke, but nope.

Esok Irf4n will have another echo.. praying that he can be off aspirin by then Amin.. tolong doakan my baby jugak ye..

A&A Wedding

Our friend, Aaron got married yesterday on Aug 1st 09. We were 15 mins late, didn't know that the parent's house is in the middle of nowhere, susah betul nak cari rumah. It's a private place by a river with a country view, very nice and... for the rich only! When we got there, the ceremony has already started (they already walked aisle, i was so crushed). We managed to see them exchanging wedding bands and KISS each other. The event took place at the front yard. I forgot to take pictures, just some videos je.

We saw some familiar faces there from Cessna and Epic. It's really nice to able to catch up with old friends and coworkers. Sadly, everybody is moving away from Bend. And we are too!

Ok back to the cermony, after nuptials we were served with some appetizers, i personally love the cocktail shrimp. !rf4n did very well for the first hour or so, thank god the weather was nice showing signs to rain. Lepas tu diaorg annouce masuk dalam tent reception. The more I think of it, american wedding ni sama je mcm melayu..more like melayu modern la with meja pengantin etc. A lot of similarity, not sure if melayu dah evolve tiru diaorg ke or mmg originally mcm tu.

All in all it was a beautiful wedding, minus the thunderstorm rasa mcm tent nak tercabut. And we got to ride a limo for the first time too..weehoooo. Food was so so, kitaorg just makan salad and bread. I think they forgot that we only eat halal or kosher meat. The sad part was we didnt get a chance to take picture with the bride and groom, !rf4n was too tired and cranky so we had to leave early. Sigh.
I wish both of them a happy life together and hopefully in a few years we can meet 'little' A&A (babies).

Mak called me about an hour ago. E is at the hospital, warded ke tak, I'm not so sure. He's been having fever for the past few days, and now they suspect that he might have been infected by the babi flu. Aiyoh...another member in my family kena the babi flu. Previosly was Nadiah, adik Zuhri, kena time keje kat hospital. I might call auntie some time today.. Hope E is doing ok..Insyaallah. Baru je chat dgn mamat tu aritu and dia gelak2 pasal babi flu ni tsk tsk..

Eih sounds scary ye kat Msia the swine flu is everywhere. I think they didn't take the precautions of using hand sanitizer etc.. Kat US dah tak dgr pape..or issit because the country is so big that all this small small matter doesn't matter anymore? ihiks ayat keling.

Noi..I have a suggestion. Why don't ko buat like a weekly entry on all the medical terms and advices on the things that you've learnt. I know you are very the busy bee la kan...ihhhiiii...but dari ko tulis2 kat shoutbox tu baik tulis bebetul. I love to read a friend's blog, she's a doctor and she writes about her medical-every day life application.. unfortunately dia just update her blog like once a month huhu..

Ok la let's pray for E..for his full recovery. Amin..

Gosh..it's getting closer!

It's end of July already?! I cannot believe it. We are a month away from moving to Kansas (yikes?).

Checklist:

• House to rent- Gem & Amin went to Indy last week. TQVM gem! Looked at three houses, we are OK with one of them, no garage thou. Rent is $700, but the look is no where close to ours that we are currently staying *sob sob*
• Packing- Tak buat ape lagi. The moving company will pack and unpack for us! We just need to supervise. sweet!
• Traveling- will be traveling to KC, stay there for a week or so kat rumah Gem before we make our move to our soon- to- be- hometown Indy, KS (double yikes?!).
  
• Last minute traveling in Oregon- To be determined.
  

We are going to a wedding this weekend! An american friend is getting married. He's an avionics engineer at Cessna, we've known him for almost 4 yrs, his fiance' was Irf4n's babysitter (the latest one, not the one yg menyebabkan dia sakit). I am planning to wear my old sweet kebaya, tapi perut ni mcm mana? Irf4n will be wearing Polo T and Short that I bought on sale weehoo hensem anak mama. Zuhri? Errr.... we'll figure it out later hehe.

Happy 10 months old

Hello peeps..
Lama tak update. Been busy with my family, work, moving plan, career plan and business yg tak seberapa haha..
Family- Irfan turned 10 months old
Work- I'm still working
Moving plan- start packing nak pindah in Sept
Career plan- tgh pikir nak talk to my boss about working again or should I focus on going to grad school
Business- Keep updating my e-shop with new stuff. Ade org beli ke? Hihihi ade la skit2.. but we might put the e-shop on hold sbb nak pindah etc...and zuhri thinks i should focus on studying for the gre rather than business yg untung $1-$2 per item. Tu pun org bukan nak beli.

At 10 months old:
* Irfan dah boleh diri dalam cib
* He can stand on his feet very well
* He likes to put every single thing in his small mouth. Banyak kali makan kertas, sponge scary!
* He crawls really fast, sometimes I have to really RUN to stop him from crawling to the TV area. Imagine how fast this little rascal la.
* He really enjoys his bath time
* He can hold two blocks, one at each hand and knock them together
* Now susah sgt nak salin pakcik ni..dia akan flip over and start to crawl atas changing table! Wah sgt takut kalau dia jatuh ke ape.
* I think he still weighs about 15-16lbs. aishhh

This is what we got him for his 10th month birthday. The minute we saw this, zuhri ckp we really need to get this one since both of us work at an aircraft company! Yeahaa..

Irfan tido dlm strolle..so nyenyak. I love my Bob, I think its one of the best stroller. You can comfortably jog, walk, stroll in the park or mall ..it's the ONLY stroller you need. But I have 3 other strollers!!! Aiyak!
