Trip to Iowa & Minneasota

We went to Mason City IA last Friday to see Kak Mirah, Amin's cousin. She was on a business trip with her client, En. Amir from Petronas. There was nothing much in Iowa, just a flat, farm based state. I drove for about 100 miles from KC, then got bored and sleepy zzzzz.

So instead of spending time with kak Mirah in Iowa, we decided to go to Minneapolis MN which was just 2 1/2 hours away. On our way to Minneapolis, my subie was low on gas and Amin forgot to exit the highway :S. By the time we exited the highway, my subie were rumbling, like *coughing* *coughing* *coughing*. And I was so freaking scared to get stranded in the middle of nowhere. Well, unfortunately my subie eventually stopped on a hill, just 500 m away from the gas station!!! Urghhhh...

But eveything was fine then. Amin and En. Amir walked to the nearby house and asked for help. The guy was very nice, he let us borrowed his extra gas for the lawn mower I guess. And we were able to get to the gas station. Pheww..

We were so overwhelming when we arrived in Minneapolis. The city is bigger and busier than KC as a matter of fact, plus they have the biggest shopping mall over there!!! The Mall of America is sooo huge that it has its own Amusement Park in the middle of the mall :O

The first indoor amusement park I went.

The rides.

The only ride we tried. Fast but not that scary.

Kak Mirah, me and Amin :)

Then we headed to the Premium Outlet in Albertville MN. There were lotsa summer sales, big discount on Corelle and Coach handbag.

Janet gave me a $50 Visa gift card for my birthday (thank you thank you). And I used it to buy a Coach purse which was on sale. I think this purse was like a 2-yr old design, but I really like it, plus it has a leather interior. I bought it for only $49.99 + tax (the original price was $209). Very happy :D
